Carlos Tolliver. That’s the name I was born with and the name I proudly carry through my musical journey.
Can You Tell Us About Your Musical Journey?
My musical journey has been both rough and rewarding. Being legally blind, I’ve had to overcome unique challenges, but it’s made me stronger and more adaptable. Music has always been a form of expression for me — a way to connect with the world around me. I’ve had to work hard and navigate through a lot, but I wouldn’t trade the experience. The journey has taught me patience, resilience, and the power of networking, which has become a huge part of my growth as an artist.
What Are Your Previous and Upcoming Projects?
Right now, I have a project I’m really excited about — my upcoming album titled Down Home Sauce, which I plan to release in about a month. I also have multiple other projects in the vault that I’ve been working on quietly. There’s a lot more coming from me soon — I’m just getting started.
Can You Describe What Your Music Is About?
My music is about my life, plain and simple. I share my journey of becoming blind, how I’ve adapted, and what I’ve gone through before and after that chapter of my life. I write and create from personal experience — so every song is a reflection of something real. My sound is about growth, survival, and self-expression.
What Type of Business Do You Have Besides Music?
Outside of music, I’ve started working on my own logo and clothing line. It’s still in the early stages, but I’m committed to growing it slowly and steadily. I believe slow progress is still progress, and I’m focused on building something that truly represents who I am as an artist and entrepreneur.
Can You List Off Your Achievements?
Right now, I consider myself a work in progress. I haven’t reached all the milestones I’m aiming for yet — like having a hit single or making it on the Billboard charts — but I’m learning every day. I know it takes time, and I’m patient. To me, staying consistent and pushing forward is an achievement in itself.
