Introduction
Michael “The Saint” Ewbank is a rising force in the world of martial arts. Born and raised in Wakefield, UK, he developed a passion for combat sports at an early age, inspired by the legendary Bruce Lee. After years of intense training and competing at the highest levels, Michael is set to make his comeback on June 15, 2025, with his eyes firmly set on becoming a world champion.
Early Beginnings: Inspired by a Legend
Michael’s martial arts journey began at the age of seven when he watched Bruce Lee movies with his father. Fascinated by Lee’s speed, technique, and philosophy, he began mimicking the moves until his father enrolled him in formal martial arts training. This early start laid the foundation for a lifelong passion.
The Competitive Journey
At 19, Michael entered the competitive scene, but not in a beginner category—his instructor placed him directly into the black belt and above division. Skepticism surrounded his entry into such an elite level, but years of rigorous training had prepared him for the challenge. He quickly proved himself, winning the W.Y.S.O.K championship.
In 2023, fate gave him another shot at glory when an opponent dropped out of a fight for the Yorkshire Championships. Stepping in at the last moment, Michael seized the opportunity and emerged victorious, becoming the Yorkshire champion.
A Brief Hiatus and the Road to a Comeback
Shortly after his championship win, career changes forced Michael to take a break from martial arts. However, his passion never faded. Now, with circumstances aligned in his favor, he is making a powerful return to competition on June 15, 2025. With renewed focus and relentless training, he aims to dominate the martial arts scene once again.
Training and Discipline
Michael’s commitment to his craft goes beyond the dojo. He follows a strict regimen, incorporating weight training before work and mixed martial arts training after work. His discipline, work ethic, and passion have earned him nicknames like “Magic,” “Iron Fist,” and “Tyson Jr.”—each reflecting his unique skills and fighting spirit.
Faith and Personal Life
Beyond martial arts, Michael is a devoted Christian. His faith journey began between the ages of 11 and 12, when he deeply explored history, science, religion, and archaeology. By 13, he started attending church and has remained steadfast in his beliefs ever since.
Outside of fighting, Michael enjoys playing the piano and guitar, as well as mastering card tricks. His diverse interests and strong moral foundation add depth to his character, making him not just a fighter but an inspiration to others.
Future Goals: Aiming for the World Title
Michael’s ultimate ambition is clear: to enter as many competitions as possible and work his way up to becoming a world champion. With his talent, discipline, and unwavering faith, the future looks incredibly bright for him.
